Juniper
Juniper (Juniperus communis) was used by the American Indians in that they drank the tea made from the berries for kidney and bladder problems, fevers, and flavour wild meats such as rabbit, pheasant, venison, and turkey. They also used the root as a tea to control childbirth as a douche and drank the tea as a treatment for venereal disease. The tea of the berry was also used as a birth control method. The berriies can be dried without the loss of their healing properties and are easily preserved for later use. The Indians also used the juniper branches in sweat lodges for arthritis
