Sage…sacred plant to all American Indians
nature's wonder food
Sage (Salvia officinalis) is a plant that is sacred to the North American Natives for smudging and other religious ceremonies. It has also been used to disguise the putrefying of meat when there was no proper way to refrigerate or preserve it. It has been used for centuries by Romans and Greeks in baths for tired aching muscles and for a good foot soaking agent.. The tea was used to supress Mother's milk in women and as a general tonic after childbirth. It is said that sage tea will help restore the memory, as a nerve tonic, and as a remedy for weak stomachs. The tea is also good in the case of colds or fevers and for nasal mucous discharge. Sage is a member of the Mint family.
