Pyrethrum (Chrysanthemum coccineum,C. marschalli, C. cinerariaefolium) is sometimes called feverfew or insect flower. The flowers resemble stiff daisies and come in a multitude of colours. They are a natural insect replllent and killer. If you plant feverfew in your garden, not only will you have no insects but no bees will get near enough to pollinate your plants for it's a deadly poison to them and all cold-blooded vertebrates. The dried flower tops are dried and powdered to make an eco-friendly insecticide. The powdered tops can also be used to make an excellent insect incense by adding a little potassium nitrate to your powder and then a little moisture to make a paste that can be dried into stick forms or spirals. Mosquitos are a real pest when you are out of doors and this incense will definitely keep them away. It seems to work even better than citronella candles ect. pyrethrum is absolutely safe to use around humans and domestic animals to control all manner of bugs.
